School Council

As a school council, we provide our school with the voice of our peers. We meet regularly to discuss ways in which we can make our school even better. We want to make sure that we do all we can to ensure that our voice is heard and we do our best to suggest ways in which we can make our school the best.

What have we done?

The main focus of our work so far this year has been based on making our school healthier. We have held meetings where we have discussed a range of things from the food we eat at snack time, the way in which we use our time during play and dinner times and the after school clubs that we have on offer in our school and if they could be more active.

We have also met with Mrs Mitchell, our school cook, to discuss the possible alternative snacks that we could offer instead of the current menu. We have also met with representatives from ASDA and Slimming World to help get ideas of how to promote a healthier lifestyle and what foods to eat. This included tasting sessions which we really enjoyed YUM! YUM! We reported all of this back to Mrs. Hughes and look forward to seeing what changes we can make.

Plans for the future...

At our latest meeting we discussed our plans for the new year. We have lots and lots of fantatsic ideas in which we want to improve our school. We have forwarded these ideas on to Mrs Hughes and we look forward to discussing them with her in the near future. Keep your eyes open for the exciting things that will be coming soon!
