During the Summer term our topic is 'Save the Rainforests!'

Please see our summer topic web below for ideas of home learning activities for each subject.

Curriculum information

This term we will continue our learning using seesaw, new literacy and maths tasks will be set every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

In maths, we will be recapping units such as addition and subtraction, multiplication and division and fractions. We will begin to look at measurement such as time and shape.

As these difficult times mean learning must be done at home, please still try to keep reading and practising your times tables and maths on timestable rockstars and mathletics. Try to stay active at home, PE with Joe Wicks is live on youtube every morning. Anything that you're doing at home, from reading to baking, can be uploaded onto seesaw for Miss Colley to see.

Stay safe and take care.

Routines in Year 4

P.E

This term we will have PE on a Wednesday morning however this may change due to weather conditions so please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school all week. If your child is participating in an active after school club, they will need their PE kit in school for that also.

Homework

As part of their homework, all children are expected to read 5 times per week. Reading diaries must be signed and in school every day, they will get checked regularly in class. Spellings will be given out on a Monday and tested on a Friday, please ensure that your child is learning their spellings throughout the week.  Alternating Maths and English homework tasks will be given out in homework books on a Wednesday and are to be completed and returned to school by Monday. In class we will continue to complete times table challenges twice a week, this will usually be on Tuesdays and Fridays.

All children have a login for times tables rockstars and mathletics inside their reading records, these games are a fun and interactive way for children to practise their times tables and other mathematical skills.
