Curriculum
At St Chad's Church of England Primary and Nursery School every child has access to a curriculum which is designed to inspire awe and wonder and to give them a future with hope.
We currently have 8 classes, from Nursery through to Year 6.
We deliver a thematic curriculum in line with the new statutory guidance. This embraces an enquiry based approach to learning that allows children to ask questions. Each term teachers plan a variety of cross-curricular activities around a key focus; this could be a book, a picture, a poem, an artefact or a question. As a church school we adopt the "What If" approach to learning which helps to develop the Christian distinctiveness of our school by encouraging children to question how their learning can be linked to Christian values.
In KS1 we use Floppy's Phonics.
At St Chad's we follow the Primary National Curriculum.

We use the Pathways to Write and Pathways to Read projects to support our English teaching - an overview for each year group can be found above. In maths, we follow the White Rose Maths schemes. The progression in maths document for Years 1-6 can be found above.
