Inclusion Quality Mark

What is the Inclusion Quality Mark
The Inclusion Quality Mark is a process that school have invested in to ensure that we are as inclusive as possible. This process helps us not only to identify our areas of strength in inclusion but also to plan next steps in how to develop our practices further.
The process involves gathering evidence about the following eight elements:
- The Inclusion values of the school
- The Learning Environment, Resources and ICT
- Learner Attitudes, Values and Personal Development
- Learner Progress and the Impact on Learning
- Learning and Teaching
- Parents, Carers and Guardians
- Governing Body and Management, External Accountability/Support
- The School in the Community
This evidence is then submitted to Inclusion Quality Mark (UK) Ltd who examine it. A one-day visit then takes place in which IQM visit school to assess against all elements and explore all aspects of education within the school. This involves talking to pupils, parents/carers, governors and members of staff. The inspector will look at books, tour the school and examine all evidence to make a judgement about whether we meet the required standards.
On our visit in July 2015, our school was assessed not only as meeting the standards for the Inclusion Quality Mark award but to also become a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion. This is an incredible achievement; as of April 2016 there were only five other schools in all of Cheshire with this status.
After 3 years of annual inspection, we were awarded Flagship School status in 2018. This was renewed again in July 2019, July 2020 and July 2021.
