Mental Health and Wellbeing

Here at S Chad’s CoE Primary and Nursery school we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and school community. We strive to ensure everyone has a ‘Future with Hope.’
Our pupils.
We believe that well-being is the key to current and future happiness, and that by developing emotional literacy we can help our children become more resilient both now and in the future with the skills they have developed at St Chad’s.
To support this, we provide a nurturing supportive environment, under pinned by our Christian Values, in which everyone is respected, valued and kindness shown to all.
We have resources and activities in school to support all our pupils and are part of the Winsford Education Partnership (WEP) Well-Being Workers group, represented by Year 5 pupils, who work with other schools to highlight well-being within school and whose role it is to be the voice of the pupils within school and the wider community.
Our ELSA (emotional literacy support assistant) also plays a vital role in working with individual children to support them through particularly challenging times in their lives and to offer strategies to use to manage and understand their emotions.
Our Staff
Staff are the heart of a school and their positive well-being is key to the success of our school. The passion they have for driving our school vision forward and supporting our pupils to have their ‘Future with hope’, is evident in everything they do. To achieve this St Chad’s strives to work as a strong team, where everyone is valued and has a voice. We understand that we all face challenges in our lives, and in the same way we would support our pupils, we offer the staff support to overcome their personal challenges, in the most appropriate way we can.
Our Community
We have strong links and connections with our wider school community and our families. These relationships are vital to ensure we can offer the right support at the right time to support the well-being of our families. Our Family Support Worker is pivotal to this and works collaboratively with our families and outside agencies, building up relationships based on trust, and honesty.
We continue to work with the Local authority, supported by West Cheshire Children’s Trust, through the ‘Our way of working’ scheme which is developing a common and consistent approach to working with families.
