At St. Chad's, we recognise the importance of physical education on our pupils health and well-being.
We strive to offer a wide range of engaging activities that incorporate the National Curriculum objectives through small progressive steps.
School Games Mark
For a number of years, St. Chad's have actively taken part in the School Games Mark.
The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
Participating in this process allows us to evaluate our PE provision and assists us in developing an action plan for future progress.

In 2018/19, we were awarded a Bronze Games Mark.
In 2019/20, we hoped to better that Bronze however, COVID-19 restrictions meant that many competitions were cancelled.
As a school, we continued to provided pupils activities whilst at home and we were awarded a Virtual School Games Award.
For the academic year 2020/21, the School Games Mark Framework was presented as a self-review tool to support schools and other educational establishments to reflect on their involvement in the School Games in light of the country’s ongoing plight with COVID-19.
In 2021/22, compeititons have been able to resume and we have earned a Bronze award.
Vale Royal School Sports Partnership
At St. Chad's we are active members of the Vale Royal School Sports Partnership.
We work closely with other schools across the Winsford and Northwich areas to to develop Physical Education, School Sport & Wellbeing.

We have taken part in competitions so far this academic year, and we will continue to engage in a variety of games.
Coaches at St. Chad's
Throughout the Year, all classes have the oppotunity to work with specialist coaches in order to develop their skills in different sports areas.
During our Autumn Term, Year 1-5 will take part in a full term of Gymnastics provided by Beth Tweddle Gymnastics.
During the Autumn Term, Year 6 will take part in Military Fitness Sessions.
